The Case Studies

Photo of Professor Rakoff lecturing in a classroom full of students at Harvard Law School.

Case studies are educational tools that engage readers in active learning by putting them squarely in the shoes of real people wrestling with real dilemmas. As students read a case, prepare assignments, and actively participate in class discussions and exercises, they learn how best to approach problems in the classroom and in the real world. The Case Studies program at Harvard Law School has the following goals:
• Support the development and adoption of case studies at Harvard Law School
• Provide a seamless, integrated e-commerce portal to catalogue & distribute Harvard Law School Case Studies
• Promote wider adoption of case studies in legal education
