This page contains information about planning events at the Harvard Law School. You will find information about the different departments that support events at HLS as well as forms you might need throughout the event planning process. As always, if you have questions at any point of the event planning process, feel free to call or e-mail us and we will arrange a time to meet with you and discuss your event.
Office of Event Scheduling and Support (OES)
Holmes Hall 1
The Office of Event Scheduling and Support is responsible for scheduling space and providing support for classes, meetings and events at the Harvard Law School campus. OES will provide guidance and advice to event planners throughout the event planning process. In order to provide the safest environment for all event attendees, we ensure that all events are in compliance with state and local regulations and codes. OES staff are available to provide some assistance on-site before and during your event. Training for the online room scheduling system is coordinated by this office. If you are new to the Law School and would like to setup a training, send an e-mail to email@example.com and the room scheduling trainer will contact you to setup a 30-minute training. If you have any issues at any point when planing your event, OES staff can assist you in finding a solution.
Restaurant Associates is the preferred caterer for the Harvard Law School. RA is the exclusive caterer for any event held in the Milstein Conference Center, any room in the Caspersen Student Center, or the Caspersen Treasure Room.
Media Services provides an array of services to support classes, conferences, presentations, and events, including voice enhancement, audio and video recording, audio and video conferencing and post production services such as editing, DVD authoring and video streaming. Media Services can transfer and duplicate VHS tapes, DVDs, DV tape and CDs. Media Services also has a small studio located on the ground floor of Langdell (LL222A) which can be used for one to two person videotaped interviews, IP based video conferencing and/or ISDN phone calls (this is used for broadcast quality audio interviews with news organizations). This room is referred to as the Green Room and can be reserved through Media Services. Requests for service should be made online via the HLS Room Scheduling System.
Information Technology Services (ITS)
ITS is responsible for all computing and networking services at HLS. For events, ITS can provide non–HLS attendees with access to the network (or set up group e-mail addresses).

The Office of Communications handles media relations, print publications, website management, graphic design services, and a range of other work designed to convey the dynamic academic atmosphere of Harvard Law School. They assist students, faculty and staff with publicity of events and newsworthy initiatives. Communications will also provide guidance on working with campus and mainstream news media. All non-HLS media must contact Communications before filming anywhere at HLS.
The HLS Copy Center located in the basement of Wasserstein Hall is a full service in house duplicating facility. They specialize in high speed digital black and white printing as well as digital color printing. Their products range from course materials, training manuals, conference materials, brochures as well as posters, postcards, dry mounting and laminating. They offer different types of binding, finishing, typesetting, printing on laminated tabs, mail merges as well as scanning and litigation copying.
Harvard University Police Department

The Harvard University Police Department provides crowd control, security and details where necessary at events. While on detail, officers have the primary responsibility of enforcing laws, enforcing the rules and regulations of the University, and protecting the safety of the Harvard community. A police detail must be requested for any event with 100 or more guests and where alcohol will be served.

Clients can go online and secure parking permits through parking services for event attendees. Support with larger events such as Passenger Transport and/or valet assistance is also available.
