Criminal Prosecution Clinic

Clinical placements are in local district attorneys' office, where students represent the Commonwealth prosecuting non-jury criminal cases in district court. Students are likely to handle arraignments, bail hearings, pre-trial conferences, motion hearings and trials. Some students may have the opportunity to assist a state prosecutor on pre-trial preparation of superior court cases or to handle a jury trial in district court. Since students are directly responsible for prosecuting a docket of cases (under the supervision of an assistant district attorney), they will need two full days free (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) in their schedules for this clinical placement.
