Joseph Story Research Fellowship
This fellowship honors Joseph Story (1779-1845), Professor at Harvard Law School (1829-1845), Associate Justice of the Supreme Court (1811-1845) and author of the first American commentary on the conflict of laws. Its goals are to provide promising post-graduates from Europe, preferably from Germany, with the opportunity to research at Harvard Law School and to work with Professor Arthur Taylor von Mehren, one of the most outstanding and experienced academics in the field of conflict of laws. The Story Fellow is selected through a competitive process and chosen for demonstrated commitment to conflicts of laws and an interest of pursuing an academic career in this field. Funding for this fellowship will terminate in October 2006, and the final selection of fellows has been completed.
