Selected Catalogs
Selected Catalogs. An extremely efficient and highly effective strategy when beginning a research project is to use a catalog to quickly locate potentially useful materials contained in a library's collection, including books, journals, newspapers, photographs, art, music, movies, manuscripts, personal papers and online databases. Pretty much anything the library owns, licenses, or considers part of its collection. A catalog, except in rare circumstances, does not allow you to search the contents of the materials. The following are selected Harvard University catalogs as well as catalogs of collections beyond Harvard. See Other Harvard Catalogs for information about additional useful Harvard catalogs. See Finding Materials at Harvard for a brief but excellent guide to finding materials at the 90+ Harvard University libraries.
