Finding Microforms

"Mic" preceding the call number indicates a microform title in the Harvard Online Library Information System (HOLLIS Catalog).

Access to the Microforms Collection is by drawer number, not call number. To find a drawer number for a particular collection, check HOLLIS Catalog or the Microforms Collection List located in the Microforms Room. Drawer numbers on HOLLIS will be listed after the call number:

Law School: Mic KF 70 .A2 (Drawer 310-313)

For titles that are part of larger collections, such as the Nineteenth-century Legal Treatises, International Law, or the Pre-Soviet Collection, HOLLIS will show the call number followed by the fiche/film number:

Law School: Mic PRE-SOVIET 00049

Check the Microforms Collection List for the drawer number, then locate the fiche/film for the numbered "00049".

Some titles have indexes, reel guides, or finding aids available on paper or on the microforms themselves. Paper indexes (call numbers beginning "Mic Ref "on HOLLIS) are shelved in the Microforms Room by call number.

If you have any questions about microforms, you can contact Jeff Kauppi, the Microforms Assistant, at (617) 496-2127 or kauppi@law.harvard.edu.
