HOLLIS & Other Catalogs

An extremely efficient and highly effective strategy when beginning a research project is to use a catalog to quickly locate potentially useful materials contained in a library's collection, including books, journals, newspapers, photographs, art, music, movies, manuscripts, personal papers and online databases. Pretty much anything the library owns, licenses, or considers part of its collection. The following are selected Harvard University catalogs as well as catalogs of collections beyond Harvard. See Other Catalogs for information about additional useful Harvard catalogs. See Finding Materials at Harvard for a brief but excellent guide to finding materials at the various Harvard University libraries. Please contact the Reference Desk, 617-495-4516, located just off the reading room on the fourth floor of Langdell Hall, with any questions.
