Obituary: Charles Dugan, 78

Labor negotiations concluded with 10 minutes to spare in 1982 when Rupert Murdoch
bought the Boston Herald American. Charlie Dugan was the one who went toe-to-toe
with the press baron until a deal was struck.

Throughout the course of history most living creatures have come
to realize at one time or another that they can usually find safety
and strength in groups that share common interests, desires and
goals. Those that choose to remain outside the “group”
or who are excluded from the group are much more vulnerable to attack
or exploitation.Working men and women of the labor movement today
